How to read this table
- Rate. This is what you pay to borrow, per year. APY includes compounding, and APR doesn't, so a 6% APY costs a bit more than a 6% APR.
- Max LTV. LTV (loan-to-value) is your loan divided by what your collateral is worth. On Morpho, 86% is the point where liquidation starts, not a safe amount to borrow. See LTV explained.
- Variable. DeFi rates go up and down with demand for the pool, sometimes within hours.
Centralized vs DeFi loans
- Centralized (like Coinbase). A company holds your collateral, and you get a normal account and support.
- DeFi (like Morpho or Aave). Smart contracts hold the collateral. You control your wallet, but you carry the smart-contract risk and there's nobody to call.
FAQ
- Why do the rates change every day? Most crypto loan rates follow how much of a pool is already lent out.
- What happens if bitcoin drops? Your LTV rises, and past the threshold your collateral can be sold. See how liquidation works.
- Is this a recommendation? No. The table is educational. Check the lender's own page before you borrow.
